Note Taking Service

I used to employ an app on my phone and desktop that I could use to make notes. It was handy for jotting down things I was supposed to remember or story ideas on the fly and then having access to them whether I was traveling or working at my desk. Then I found out that the note keeping service claims that everything written on their service is copyrighted to them. So, if I used my idea that I'd already saved in their note taking service in say, a story or novel that I was later paid for, they would have legal standing to make a claim that they owned that idea. I dropped the service and deleted my account, but it was a nice reminder to be careful in the digital age. I just hope they don't sell my grocery lists to anyone since they maintain indefinite ownership of all that content.
