Loud Bands

In high school I was a big fan of the band Bad Religion. I created a playlist for running the other day and since the bulk of my music collection is skinny white men whining while they play guitar, I ended up putting some Bad Religion on there. It runs alongside Suicidal Tendencies and MC5. I remember all the words to every song in spite of not listening to them for nearly 10 years, and I found myself wondering if I'd still remember them all in another 10 years. I can only hope that some profound new knowledge will crowd out those lyrics by then. What really struck me in stepping back to those days is how slow all the songs play. Ten years ago I thought it'd be impossible for a band to take it up a notch and play faster, and now those old songs plod along. At least I'm not getting weak, music-wise, in my old age.
