eBook Signature

I've heard there's a digital technology on the horizon that will allow authors to sign their eBooks for adoring fans. It would work like this: The fan would wait in line at a bookstore where the author does a reading, and then they would meet the author who would sign their iPad or Kindle eBook using a stylus. Then that person would have it, the signed eBook. They could take screenshots and show their friends. Then their friends could download those photos for their own eBooks. And at some point, they'll have to ask themselves, what's the point of signing an eBook? Then, perhaps they'll ask, what's the point of signing a real book? And they'll discover there is no point. None at all.
