I have a monthly poker night with some friends. Our wives/girlfriends/fiancees are all in the same book club, so we get together when they get together, but we play poker instead of talk about books. I explained this setup to a friend at work and she said, "Wow, that sounds really domestic." And I agree that it does. We're like some suburban club that hangs out once in a while, but you know what? It's awesome. And now I'm wondering what other awesome aspects of suburban domesticity I'm missing out on. Maybe I should join the Elks Club, I bet that place is like Disneyland once you get in.
