University Childcare

My university had a lot of commuters, and they offered reasonably priced childcare for parents who were in school. The childcare center overlooked the river and had a large playground teeming with towering, modern equipment. Even during the lean years at my university, when the English department lacked a building and tuition was going through double-digit rate hikes, the childcare center was always well stocked and affordable. I thought it said great things about the values of my university, that they offered cheap childcare to parents in school. And then I realized that the childcare facility was located inside the child psychology building. They weren't giving out affordable childcare. They were asking parents to farm their kids out to be studied by undergrads. I wonder what that says about the values of my university.
