Memory Test

In psychology class we read an article about people who'd suffered a head injury and lost their ability to make new short-term memories. In this experiment the researchers would shake the person's hand and poke them with a needle at the same time. The subject would forget that the researcher had poked them with the needle, but they'd never want to shake the researcher's hand again. At first I thought it was an interesting study, but then I thought, "What are these researchers doing jabbing people with needles?" That doesn't seem right. Though I'm sure the researchers made them sign releases, and it would be tough to call the subjects to the witness stand if the people who conducted the study were every sued. They definitely thought it through.
