Your Daily Fishing Report

During my newspaper internship in a small town in Minnesota, I was tasked with writing daily fishing reports for the paper's website. It was one of the joys of my job. I've made something of a career of finding different and engaging ways to say the same thing over and over, and these fishing reports were great practice. Fish in a small chain of lakes don't change their behavior much, so the fishing report was more of a daily recap of the weather report with some news about how the fish would act. At first they 'weren't hitting' or they were 'nearly jumping into boats,' but by the end of summer, Muskies were 'laconic' while sunfish were zipity-doo-dazzling. I can't believe no one ever called to cancel their subscription to the paper. I'm pretty sure it's because no one ever visited the website.
