The problem with food poisoning is that there's so little recourse. The excruciating physical pain is of course also a problem, but once you're over that the real challenge is getting back at the restaurant. In the digital era you think it'd be easy to hop online and drop a few reviews sharing the details of the evening you'd spent on the bathroom floor after dining at the restaurant, but the problem is that you can never be 100% sure where your acquired your food poisoning. Signs may point to the hamburger cart that was thawing meat on the sidewalk, but you have to be open to the slim possibility it could have been something in kale from the smoothie you made at home. The only way to know for certain is to have some of the food you ate tested, but as I don't collect samples of all the food I eat this is an impossibility. The best you can do is vow to never return to that restaurant, which you'd do anyway since the thought of their food is certain to induce your gag reflex.
