The Email Era

I sometimes wonder what it would have been like to live in the era of carbon copies, memos, secretaries, and telephones. On one hand it seems like it would be difficult to get anything done, but on the other hand I think about all the useless emails and IMs I send and receive each day, and I think that if they had to be consigned to paper via a dictationist perhaps I would do a better job relaying information. If I ever start a company everything will be analog. I'll make announcements on a PA system run by vacuum tubes. I'll call everyone (and not leave voicemails) instead of emailing. And I'll insist they all wear glasses instead of contact lenses. I hope I can find more than one person who will work for me.
