It's Painful Being This Ironic
My old roommate found a particular (short) verse by an English poet that he needed put on his body in permanent form, so he went to a nearby tattoo parlor with the written piece in hand. While sitting in the chair getting the trial done in non-permanent ink, he and his tattoo artist had a conversation about how people who manage to misspell words on tattoos must be supreme idiots since it's so easy to just look a few words up to ensure sure you're getting it right. He proofread his own tattoo over his shoulder in a mirror and proclaimed it fine, then the next day, of course, he noticed that one of the words was spelled wrong. It was old English, but considering the topic of their conversation it's hard to have any sympathy for this friend.
