The Football Pool

I'm in a football pool with 145 people and I'm in 141st place. That's at the bottom, not the top. It wouldn't be a big deal except my father-in-law is in the same league and I'd prefer he not think that I'm a total dunce. Worse yet, a bunch of his friends are in the league and they all know me, and they've asked if everything is okay with me this year. As if I was in some horrible ski or motorcycle accident and lost higher function in my brain. A couple years ago one guy in the league died, so his score remained the same at the bottom of the list all season. If mine doesn't pick up soon, I may have to fake my own death.
