There is no use in being offended. And feeling insulted for petty reasons makes no sense. But feeling insulted isn't something that relies on logic all the time. In one day I had someone tell me they didn't like a book I'd recommended and another person tell me they didn't like a beer I'd recommended. I felt insulted in both cases, but the depth of the insult was much more profound over the beer. Which makes no sense. It takes way longer to read a book, and beer is much less personal than books. Besides, beer and book preferences are a personal matter. Maybe what I really just discovered at feeling those insults is that I don't like the people. Or maybe I'm just taking their feedback too harshly.
Insults and Feedback
