Facebook Professional
My girlfriend was out of town and I happened to meet a young woman, a friend-of-a-friend, at a bar. She was interested in applying for a job at my company and asked if we could connect on Facebook. My profile is difficult for people to find in spite of there not being many "Rocky Thompsons" on Facebook, so she asked if she could send a friend request to herself from my phone. I didn't think about it until the next day when I received an alert saying "So-and-so accepted your friend request." I looked at it and could tell something was out of place in her tiny profile pic. I checked the larger version and discovered the young woman in a, shall we say, less-than-professional situation. So to all my friends, it looked like I was sending friend requests to erratic young women while my girlfriend was out of town. I deleted the woman immediately, but part of me wishes I'd taken the time to email back first ask why on Earth she'd look for professional connections through Facebook when she looks like an idiot online. It doesn't show the best judgment.
