Face Unlock

My new phone has a face unlock feature. It's a security measure. You hold it in front of your face when you turn it on and if the front-facing camera recognizes you it unlocks. It sounds a lot cooler than it is. About half the time it recognizes me, and the rest of the time I have to enter a PIN because it says "No face recognized." It doesn't work in low light (bars), and I think it depends on the background as much as my face. I also have to look at a picture of myself every time I turn my phone on, so it serves as a constant reminder that I have a terrible haircut. The most surprising aspect of the process for me is that I've learned I almost always have my hands in front of my face. I never realized that when I was sitting watching TV or half-listening to someone talk I always held my hand right by my face. So now I have that to be self-conscious of on top of the terrible hair.
