Meeting New People

I sold my surfboard the other day. I figure that after owning it for three years and using it twice, it was time to say goodbye. I setup a Craigslist sale and planned to meet the guy on the street corner near my apartment building. In the ten minutes I waited for him, I had more strangers come up and talk to me than I've had in all three years I lived in this apartment. Carrying a surfboard through the city is an open invitation for people to approach you for conversations. It's a better icebreaker than a newborn baby and a puppy on a leash combined. If you ever want to meet new people, just pick up a used board off Craigslist and stand outside for a few minutes.
