The Penny Problem

We've all heard about the problem with pennies. They cost more to produce than they're worth. And they take a lot of resources to get needlessly created. The metal in a penny is worth more than the value attached to it, to the earth at least. So why do we still have them? I heard one rumor. It goes that Illinois is a swing state in terms of voting, and Lincoln is on the penny, and no one wants to risk angering the fine folks of Illinois by getting rid of the mighty Lincoln coin. But here's the thing. Obama is from Illinois, so I think he'll be pretty safe making the move. Plus Lincoln already has the $5 bill, and he looks great on it! It's time to kill the penny.
