I recently acquired a record player, but most of my records have been sitting in my parents' house for the last four years. It's fitting, as about 90% of my record collection is culled from them. It's a good thing they had great taste in music when records were the only way to own albums. My old friend Rob was not so lucky. He once told me that the best record in his parents' collection was Jim Croce. And it gets worse because his brother took that record and tried to scratch it DJ-style, and he ended up tearing up most of the album and making it even less listenable.
