Binge Watching

I love and hate the on-demand era of television watching. It's given new life to old sitcoms that I used to see as a kid. Now I can pile through them without waiting for weeks or enduring commercials. Imagine if I'd been able to watch Lost this way, all of the disappointment would have been over in one sitting. Binge watching, they call it. I was dealing with the vacuumed-out feeling that accompanies watching an entire season of Boardwalk Empire or The Sopranos, trying to find something to lift my spirits. I found it in season two of Wings, with Brian's whacky ties and the constant roll of laugh track. But now I'm fixing my binging with binging? This is a slippery slope, friends.
