Fish Handling

I love fishing but I hate handling bait and fish. I guess you could say that I like being outdoors and hanging out with friends, which means I should probably stick to rock climbing, but that sport lacks the inherent relaxation of fishing. I don't have to deal with bait since I fly fish, and rock climbing has served me well in tying knots, so it's just getting the fish off the hooks I don't like. Since I don't catch many, it's not something I have to worry about often. But once in a while I can't help but get lucky, so, like the Internet-age outdoorsy folk that I am, I turned to YouTube to find the best way to take fish off of hooks. Turns out the less you touch them the better. Best news I ever got. Here I was feeling like an idiot for trying to pull the flies out of their mouths without handling them too much, and I was doing the right thing. Now, I know the Internet is unreliable, and that goes even more so for the information you get on YouTube, but this is one bit of advice I chose not to examine any closer. I got the news I wanted.
