Binge Watching

I was at a gathering of friends and wanted to talk about Game of Thrones but a young woman there covered her ears and shook her head from side-to-side with a grimace on her face. When I stopped talking she removed her hands and informed all of us that she had just started watching the first season. I indulge in binge watching of TV shows. When I find some new (old) program like House of Cards or The Wire, I'll sit in front of the TV while a beautiful day goes from bright and cheerful to a wasted sunset. It's easy with so many sources to stream these TV shows for almost no cost. But I'll never jump in and yell for people not to talk about the show. You can't hold a group hostage just because you don't want to find out from them that Darth Vader is Luke's father. It's a trade-off. You don't have to see the commercials, but you might have a plot twist ruined by someone like me.
