Checking in on Facebook

Whenever I found a short pause in my day I used to grab my phone and take a look at Facebook. Things seldom changed, and the people I follow who I'm actually friends with don't say too much. Instead of shoring up long-distance friendships and staying in touch with family, I found myself looking at Facebook only to see all the idiotic stuff that people were saying and then I'd complain about it. After a couple weeks of myopia I stepped away and realized that the only topic worse for conversation than what you're idiot friends are saying on Facebook is talking about your dreams the night before. Since then it's been a friend deleting spree for me. Life is much more tolerable on social network levels now.
