I seldom offer unsolicited advice. It's something I hate other people doing when I'm trying to figure out a boulder problem or line down a difficult bike trail. But I will break my own rule this one time and say, the next occasion you have to visit your local bike shop, bring in a 6-pack of beer to drop off with your bike. The folks there will treat you like royalty for the rest of your interactions with them. And really, that goes for anything. Handing out beers is a great way to get people on your side.
