Cinco de Derby

Today is Cinco de Mayo and the Kentucky Derby. I found out last month that no one in Mexico celebrates Cinco do Mayo. That it is a holiday hyped up by beer vendors in the US to sell more of their wares. I also heard the other day that at any given time, 1.7% of the world population is drunk. To this I say, "Why don't I work in the alcohol business?" It's always in demand and recession proof, and with 1.7% of the world imbibing at that rate it's a guaranteed money maker. Though I'm surprised the powerful alcohol lobby would let the derby and Cinco de Mayo fall on the same day. Two big American drinking holidays. Someone must have been looking at the wrong calendar month.
