Car Improvements

While tinkering with our broken down cars during college, my friends and I began to frequent one nearby automotive parts store. After changing our oil and spark plugs, we looked for other fun projects. One day, with a healthy sense of irony, we all bought chromed out tailpipe extensions to add to our rundown cars. I then ended up buying my friend's old car and moved all the way across the country with it. Realizing that with a chrome tailpipe I looked rather pathetic instead of funny, I tried to remove the thing. Since the piece was made with rather cheap chrome, it had rusted to the car, so I knocked off as much as I could. From then on there was a heady taste of car fumes whenever I sat in traffic for a long time, but it was still better to risk death by asphyxiation than drive around like the local idiot.
