Wedding Font

In the course of helping to plan my wedding I've corresponded with several wedding companies by email. Without fail they sign their emails with big flowery pink fonts and a lot of smiley faces. Now, I've accepted that in email correspondence most of us need to use more exclamation points and smiley faces than we might use in normal conversations with humans face-to-face. The nature of email is that it lacks personality, and it's easy to take things the wrong way. Littering your correspondence with !! and :) is a way to indicate to people that you're trying to be friendly. But wedding people take it to new heights, that is until they're waiting on a payment. All of the frivolity is cast aside for stern language, specific deadlines and conventional signatures that say way more than anyone is actually saying in their emails. Some suggest that email has made our lives more impersonal. While I don't disagree, I'd also point out that it's added annoying levels of subtly to the way we communicate!
