Broken Windows

The lobby in my office has a massive glass sliding wall we shut after we close. It looks very cool, but I was thinking it probably doesn't provide all that much security. My concerns were confirmed a while back when someone on the evening cleaning crew pushed a cart loaded with dusting rags, trash bags and chemicals straight through the massive glass wall. The pile of broken glass was immense -- it looked like they'd just filmed an action movie. We have our logo etched into the glass to prevent these bird-in-a-window scenarios, but I'm sure it's tough to see when all the lights are out. It's not really my place to get mad at the guy, it was an obvious accident. It's one of those scenarios where, if you the thing was going to break, you'd wish you could do it yourself.
