Acceptance

I have a tendency to be very accepting when I have no idea what's going on. For example, I was at a Indonesian restaurant with a friend a while ago, and he ordered a dish but requested no onions. The chef came out and yelled at him, but I didn't say anything because I assumed that was fairly commonplace behavior at Indonesian restaurants. Now I go to one all the time and I've never seen anyone get yelled at by a chef. I also saw the aftermath of a guy getting stabbed my first day in New York, and I assumed that, once again, this was fairly regular. Turns out I've never seen another stabbing. Now that I'm thinking about it, I wonder if capers are supposed to make you throw up. Maybe next time I eat them I won't get violently ill.
